No trip to Yarraville would be complete without a visit to the Sun Bookshop – tucked into the gorgeous art deco Sun Theatre building, the shop is packed with well-chosen fiction, biography, history, travel, science and crime – and a great collection of beautiful art, photography and craft books.

There is also a selection of quirky and artistic cards. The booksellers are friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to help – be it with choosing a book or wrapping it up for a special occasion. If you can’t decide what you’d like, we also sell gift vouchers.

The Sun Bookshop has been operating since 1998 and is a favourite of the locals in this vibrant inner-city village community. We keep busy with many events and book launches as well as a popular monthly bookclub.

The Younger Sun returned to the Sun Bookshop March 2025

The Sun Bookshop sits on the lands of the Bunurong people and we wish to acknowledge them as Traditional Owners. We would also like to pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities who may visit our Bookshop.

The Sun Bookshop has one step at the entrance, and is wheelchair-accessible via the Sun Theatre foyer and throughout our shop.
